How often do you meet?
We meet once a week for general meetings every Tuesday night at 7pm
How big of a time commitment is PAD?
PAD is however big of a commitment you want to make. If you are already a very busy person we appreciate any time that you can give and we understand if that's not a lot. All of us are students and many of us juggle jobs and other responsibilities as well so you won't be alone! That being said, the more involved you are the greater the reward will be and as a member we would hope you would strive to be as involved as possible.
Do you have to be a law major to join?
Absolutely not. One of the things that makes law so unique as a field and a post-graduate study is that it can pull from almost any background. We welcome any and all majors with open arms!
Do you have to want to go to law school?
Again, absolutely not! Although much of what we do is aimed towards a career in law, Phi Alpha Delta is a fully inclusive fraternity and we welcome all future career interests.
Do you have chapter dues?
Yes, our dues are paid by semester and can be paid either by check or venmo. At Phi Alpha Delta Info Sessions members will be provided with a full breakdown of costs and these numbers are available to all members.
What are the requirements for joining?
The only thing we require is that you are in good academic standing and are currently enrolled full time as an undergraduate student at the University of Arizona. You must pay national and chapter dues to be initiated (payment plans and scholarships are available on a need basis, contact our Treasurer at padtres@gmail.com for more info on this).
How do I join?
If you are interested in joining Phi Alpha Delta at the University of Arizona please contact us via our contact page above. If it is the beginning of the semester please see our Calendar page and look for upcoming Information Sessions. If the information sessions and initiations for the semester have passed we can set up an individual time for you to meet with us and be initiated of you contact us above.
Is there a dress code?
Almost every general meeting (Tuesday nights) will have a guest speaker or professional presentation. For this reason we ask all members to wear business casual to all meetings. This is for your benefit so you make a good impression, and because it shows respect to those who take their time to come and speak to us. Social events, philanthropic events and information sessions are casual wear and you are allowed to wear whatever street clothes you would like (unless explicitly told otherwise - varies by event). Some events, such as initiation or the Law Expo, you will be expected to wear full professional dress to. You may be asked to leave an event or meeting if you fail to meet the appropriate dress standard. When if doubt, always check our social media sites (under Updates section on this website) or email your questions to us under the Contact portion of this website.
Why all the flowers, I thought this was a coed fraternity?
Red carnations are actually the official national flowers of Phi Alpha Delta, as red is the color most closely associated with the legal profession.
